What a start of December! We had the pleasure and honour of welcoming Ian Murray MP, Shadow Secretary of State for Scotland, in our office, to showcase our tech. Ian immediately saw its value and potential. We had also lined up a live 3D holochat between our office in Edinburgh and the BBC in London! We explained how HoloPresence has its roots in publicly funded Covid related research in the UK, how HoloViewer and Holoslicer could improve doctors and patients’ experiences, how a medical application of HoloPresence, 3D Telemedicine, could help in a global pandemic and reduce waiting lists, how HoloPresence’s other application, HoloExistence, won a military grant to safeguard human lives in hazardous operations, and how we continuously stay ahead of the curve with respect to 3D visualisation, simulation and modelling with new research such as our recent Digital Twin DSTL project which was presented at a recent Defence Surgical Research Conference by DSTL.
Ian Murray MP, Shadow Secretary of State for Scotland, said:
"I was delighted to visit Holoxica at Murchison House, Edinburgh University and explore for myself their high-tech 3D visualisation systems. The team at Holoxica is leading the way in Scotland's flourishing tech sector and pushing the boundaries of holographic technologies in MedTech to better equip medical professionals in training, diagnosis and treatment.
I was even able to take part in a personal viewing session of one of their 3D displays and experience a demo from the BBC (Blue Room) of Holoxica’s HoloPresence (3D videoconferencing without glasses/headsets). I look forward to furthering my relationship with Holoxica and supporting them as they navigate the problems that Brexit has created for the sector."

Spencer Marsden, BBC Blue Room R&D Engineer, said:
“It was a great pleasure to assist Holoxica in demoing their Holopresence app to Ian Murray MP. It’s fascinating to see how Holoxica have combined 3D capture, playback and networking, moving realtime 3D communication from the realm of science fiction to everyday use. The BBC Blue Room has a Holopresence setup connecting their Salford and London offices, giving BBC Staff and visitors the opportunity to experience this technology for themselves.”
